Fernie Alpine Resort is a hidden gem
Located in British Columbia just across the border from Alberta, Fernie Alpine’s uncrowded slopes make it ideal for families and beginners. Renowned for its “legendary powder” and an average annual snowfall of almost 9 meters! With terrain spread over 5 spectacular open bowls, ridges and glades, there is endless adventure on this mountain for all abilities.
Whether driving from Calgary or taking a coach transfer, the road to Fernie will lead you through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. The drive is easy with no major mountain passes and the roads are well maintained. There are also some other great ski resorts nearby, so you can extend your trip to take in some more great skiing or just have a day trip.
Fernie is a historic mining town (located just 5kms from the ski resort), and offers a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants. So enjoying the nights won't be difficult, that's if you have the energy after a day on the slopes.

You'll find there is also plenty for the non skiers, such as snowshoeing tours and soft adventure activities. For the adventurous head off with a mountain guide to enjoy the best of the runs and powder or create the ‘First tracks’ of the day by being the first up the hill and the first to make tracks down the runs!

Fernie is a perfect location for trying more than one resort. If you hire a car you can easily ski Banff, Lake Louise or Kicking Horse either for a day or for a few days to extend your holiday.Talk to our sales consultants and they’ll plan what you want to do.
