CANADIAN AFFAIR TO OPERATE HEATHROW-TORONTO
ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE UK TOUR OPERATOR
- Low-cost flights to start May 2007, from £119 one-way incl. tax -
Canadian Affair, the UK’s largest tour operator to Canada, will once more lead the way with their leisure market flights to Canada, when it launches low-cost flights from London Heathrow to Toronto Pearson International Airport in May 2007.
Currently, direct non-stop flights between Heathrow and Canada are only offered by the national flag carriers, so the new flights mark a milestone for the leisure traveller from the London gateway, offering the lowest fares with the highest quality service.
Having pioneered the industry-leading transatlantic 35 inch economy seat pitch on its Boeing 757 flights, Canadian Affair is continuing to develop its route network to offer the very best flight schedule to more passengers, at more airports throughout the UK.
Heathrow will be its eighth UK departure airport as the operator more than doubles its flight programme to Canada for 2007. This includes additional routes and frequencies from existing departure points such as London Gatwick and Glasgow, and new services from Exeter, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
The twice-weekly Heathrow-Toronto service will operate from London each Saturday and Sunday, commencing in May 2007. The flights are perfect for the millions of leisure travellers throughout Heathrow’s extensive catchment area which extends from Western London, north to the Cotswolds, and west to Dorset.
Anette Rayner, Canadian Affair’s Managing Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our sister company Air Transat Airlines has been given the approval to operate these flights, enabling us to offer the British traveller low-cost leisure flights from Heathrow. This is a very significant step forward for Canadian Affair, and an integral part of our objective to continue to offer the widest choice of value-for-money services from the UK direct to Canada’s main international airports.”
Canadian Affair has already unveiled ticket prices starting from £119 per person one-way (including taxes). Flights for Summer 2007 are on sale now, book now for the lowest prices and best availability.
Flights will be operated by an Air Transat Airbus A310 aircraft with two cabin configurations: Economy Class and Club Class. Offering luxury leather seats in Economy Class, along with complimentary meals and soft drinks, in-flight entertainment is also provided along with an activity pack for children, and a wide choice of duty-free shopping.
Passengers can also travel in greater luxury by upgrading to Club Class from just £180 one-way. Amenities include extra-wide leather seats with a 35-inch pitch, dedicated check-in and priority boarding, a larger allowance of 40kgs hold luggage and 15kgs hand luggage, a welcome drink and complimentary bar service, four-course meals with a wide-ranging menu, and complimentary in-flight entertainment.
The introduction of these new services complement Canadian Affair’s double-daily, direct non-stop flights from London Gatwick to Toronto.
